Subscription vs. custom: which model to choose for your next dynamic

One of the questions we get asked most is when it makes sense to subscribe and build the dynamic yourself, and when it's better to commission a custom project. The answer depends on three factors: how much time you have, how complex what you want to build is, and what internal resources you have available.

Subscription is the right choice if you already have the content figured out, want to iterate fast (launch, measure, adjust), and have someone on the team who can spend a couple of hours in the editor. It's common for recurring internal training, team trivia, or welcome dynamics that repeat several times a year.

Custom development makes sense when you're after a highly polished, on-brand experience, don't have internal resources to build it, or the storyboard requires narrative and design work that goes beyond a template. It's the usual path for major product launches or highly role-specific recruitment processes.

Either way, it's not a one-time decision: many clients start with subscription for internal dynamics and commission custom projects for their highest-visibility events.
