Gamification in recruitment: assessing candidates through dynamics

Evenely TeamApril 10, 20266 min read

A personality test or a competency questionnaire measures, at best, what a candidate believes or says they would do in a situation. A well-designed gamified dynamic, on the other hand, puts the candidate in front of a realistic scenario and observes what decisions they make under time pressure, with incomplete information, just like in the actual job.

In recruitment, this translates into challenges like: resolving a simulated customer issue under a time limit, prioritizing tasks in a scenario with scarce resources, or making decisions as a team inside a themed Escape Room related to the company's industry.

The result doesn't replace the interview, but complements it with objective data: resolution times, decision paths, collaboration ability. And from the candidate's perspective, the experience is substantially better than a standard test, which also works in favor of your employer brand.

If you run recruitment processes regularly, a subscription lets you reuse the same dynamic for different openings. If you need something very role-specific, we'll design it for you.
